the end of 'his' marriage...

Lim Kok Wing pays wife RM11m

By CHELSEA L.Y. NG

KUALA LUMPUR: Prominent educationist Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing and wife Puan Sri Tessie Lim ended their 21-year marriage amicably yesterday with a divorce settlement that included an RM11.65mil cash payment.

High Court Judicial Commissioner Aziah Ali granted the order for divorce in chambers with decree nisi – a decree issued on a first petition for divorce that becomes absolute at a later date, in this case in three months’ time.

If no issues crop up in the meantime, the divorce will automatically be affirmed.
According to the joint petition for divorce filed on Dec 11, 2006, Lim and Tessie had been living separately since March last year.

Lim, 61, and Tessie Louise Weller, 44, were married on Nov 18, 1986 in Petaling Jaya.
The couple has a 20-year-old daughter Tiffanee Marie Lim.

Lim also has a 25-year-old son, Lim Kok Wing Jr, from a previous marriage.

According to the petition, Lim had agreed to hand over RM11,650,000 in cash to Tessie as a one-off alimony payment, and as part of the divorce settlement.

Other terms of the settlement were not made available.

it was the 'hottest' news some times ago.. but due to me lack of appearing in campus, i miss out about the news but i still got friends who told me about it after saw this in the papers... lol....

thanks Amel for directing me to this news. I miss out that day's newspaper.

RM 11 000 000 is not a big figure for him le...

(2007)
1 student's fee averagely for a Mass Comm Degree = RM 80 000
* fee for 1 complete program, (4 years) exclude failing & repeats charges & repeat resource charges*
FYI, failing rates in this uni is consider quite high... *to me lah*
RM 80 000 x 138 people = RM 11 040 000

how many student does he have now? i think should have hit way pass the 6 000 students target this year.
A campus in London & a campus in Botswana...

(says averagely RM50 000) for a complete program; Diploma, Degree & other courses.

6000 x RM 50 000 = RM 300 000 000. This only includes tuition fees & fees relates to studies
there is still Makanlah, The Fashion Label *i lupa namanya*, Wings Cafe, 10 Ten, Hair Salon, & etc.
Remember also new campus in London & Botswana...

the rest... u calculate sendiri lah... ini bukan nett profit.. juz total incoming $$$... but i bet he must make atleast 40% profit of total income or more lor... kekekeke....
